Running a quiz

Quiz mode turns your event into a live game. You show one question at a time on the big screen; players answer on their phones and race up the leaderboard.

Create a quiz

1. In the event form, choose the Quiz mode.
2. Add questions with two or more answers, and tick the right answer for each.
3. Pick the time per question: 10, 20, 30 or 60 seconds.

Good to know: each player uses one response, however many questions the quiz has. A quiz with 100 players uses 100 responses.

Run it from presenter mode

Publish the event and choose Run the quiz (it opens presenter mode).

1. Lobby: the screen shows the link, the QR code and the nicknames of everyone who joins. Click a nickname to remove it.
2. Start quiz: the first question appears with a countdown.
3. Reveal answer: happens by itself when time runs out or everyone has answered. The screen shows how many picked each answer.
4. Leaderboard: the top 10 so far.
5. Next question: repeat until the Final results.

Press the space bar to move to the next step. End quiz stops early, and Restart clears every answer and score for a fresh start (players stay in). Use it after a practice run.

Scoring

A right answer scores between 500 and 1,000 points: the faster, the more. Wrong or missing answers score nothing. Players see their points and rank on their phone after each reveal.

Players

Players join with a nickname, with no real names or sign-up. One phone is one player. If a nickname is taken, a number is added ("Ada 2").

On your event page, Players lists everyone with their score. Remove takes a player off the leaderboard and stops them answering. Removed players still count toward your response limit.

After the quiz

The event page shows how many got each question right. Excel and CSV exports have one row per player: rank, nickname, score and each answer. The results report shows the leaderboard.
