Account, sign-in and passwords
Signing in with email or Google, and resetting your password.
Use your email and password, or Continue with Google where available. If your Google account uses the same email as an existing account, it signs into that account.
Confirm your email
After signing up, open the link we email you to confirm your address, then sign in. Opening the link doesn't sign you in by itself. Accounts that are never confirmed are removed after 7 days, so you can sign up again (or Continue with Google) with the same address.
Two-step sign-in
Add a code from an authenticator app to your sign-in from the Account page. See Two-step sign-in.
Forgot your password?
On the sign-in page choose Forgot password?. We email a link that works once and expires in an hour. After resetting, you're signed out on every other device, every API key and connected app stops working (create new ones on the Account page), and devices you'd marked as trusted for two-step sign-in ask for a code again.
If someone tries to create an account with your email address, we email you about it. If that wasn't you, you don't need to do anything.
Too many sign-in tries from one network pauses sign-in from there for a minute. If someone types lots of wrong passwords for your account from anywhere, password sign-in to it pauses for up to 15 minutes on new devices, but never on a phone or computer you've signed in on before. To get in straight away on a new device, reset your password there: the browser you reset it in counts as one you've signed in on. Resetting your password, or turning two-step sign-in on or off, means every other browser counts as new again until you sign in on it.
Email problems
If our emails to you bounce, we pause reminders and show a banner on your dashboard. Fix the address or mailbox, then choose Resume emails.
